Srinagar Police arrested 02 drug peddlers, contraband recovered

 

Srinagar: 18th January 2021:

Police Station Batmaloo today held two persons from Taxi Stand Batmaloo. Four packages containing apparently *opium poppy* precisely dried and crushed seed pods of opium plant total around 34 kg were recovered from them.

The persons held were identified as: 

1. Nazir Ahmad Rather 

Age 40 years 

S/O Ab Ahmad Rather 

R/O Kakroosa Vilgam

Kupwara

2. Ab Rashid Dar

Age 33 years 

S/O Ab Jabar Dar 

R/O Reban Sopore

Baramulla 

The duo were on way to leave for Punjab where they had planned to sell it. A case FIR No. 06/2021 U/S 8/18 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Batmaloo and investigation taken up.

Locals of the area have hailed the Police action & are expecting that this type of action against drug menace shall continue in future also.
